Drivetrain & Axle Service in Las Vegas, Henderson & Summerlin

Most drivers don't spend much time thinking about the drivetrain until something begins making noise or the vehicle no longer drives the way it should. Your drivetrain is responsible for transferring power from the engine and transmission to the drive wheels, and every component along the way has an important job. When one part begins to wear, it's often only a matter of time before other components are affected.

One of the most common drivetrain repairs we perform involves worn constant velocity (CV) axles. The flexible rubber boots that protect the CV joints are designed to keep grease in and dirt out. Once a boot tears, grease is thrown out while water and road debris work their way in. If the problem is caught early, you may only notice grease around the inside of the wheel. If it's ignored, the joint will eventually begin clicking during turns, vibrations on acceleration and may ultimately require replacement.

Another misconception I hear from time to time is that every vibration must be caused by a bad axle. While that's certainly possible, vibrations can also be caused by worn engine mounts, tires, wheel bearings, suspension components, or even drivetrain issues farther upstream. That's why we never assume the first symptom tells the entire story. We take the time to identify the actual cause before recommending repairs.

When a vehicle comes to Asian Imports with a drivetrain concern, we begin with a thorough inspection. We evaluate the CV axles, boots, wheel bearings, driveshaft components when applicable, engine and transmission mounts, and any related suspension or steering parts that could contribute to the complaint. If necessary, we'll road test the vehicle to duplicate the symptom and verify our findings.

I've learned over the years that unusual noises are often the vehicle's way of asking for attention. A clicking sound during turns, a vibration while accelerating, or a clunk when shifting into gear usually develops gradually. Addressing those concerns early often prevents additional damage and helps avoid more expensive repairs later.

Our ASE Certified technicians have been servicing Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Nissan, Infiniti, Subaru, Mazda, Hyundai, Kia, and other Asian vehicles for more than twenty-five years. We use quality replacement parts, follow manufacturer repair procedures, and inspect the surrounding components to ensure we're correcting the problem instead of simply replacing one worn part.

Whether you're hearing an unusual noise, feeling a vibration, or simply want peace of mind before a small problem becomes a larger one, we're here to help. We'll explain what we find in plain language, answer your questions honestly, and recommend only the repairs your vehicle actually needs. That's how we've approached every repair since opening our doors, and it's a philosophy that continues to guide us today.
